Rising Demand For Rolling Stones Concert TicketsDestruction, degeneracy, drugs. These are the words that are most often associated with the longest living (and performing) rock and roll band in history. While the long life of the band has been fraught with band replacements, death and jail time, the Rolling Stones remain intact insofar as primary school buddies Mick Jagger and Keith Richards are concerned, and despite the age of the band members, Rolling Stones concert tickets are still very difficult to get. Considering the reality of a generation who worships boy bands and bitchy prima donna solo artists, the demand for tickets to listen to Rolling Stones music is nothing short of phenomenal. But then again, this particular group of musicians has been down on the hard court many times in the last three decades, and they still manage to get up before the count of ten. This British band is the complete opposite of the clean-shaven, choir boy image of the Beatles that was causing such raving mania the US and the whole world in the 60s - and for a long time they could not break into the lucrative US market even while topping the charts in the UK. The Rolling Stones were considered a bad influence with their long hair, disturbingly gritty music and raunchy lyrics that nevertheless had an audience, no matter how prissy, humming along to the irresistible beat. Over the 40 years that the band has been in existence, the diversity of their songs is mute evidence to the changes in the band’s composition as drugs, politics and inclination moved players around like chess pieces. Some of the music is so different it is hard to imagine that it belongs to the same group; and they are different in the fundamentals. The only things constant and recognizable are Richards’ distinctive style and Jagger’s wide-mouthed rendition of ballads or rock music. It was in 1965 that the Rolling Stones became international stars, breaking finally into the staunch American market with the pop song “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction.” Since then, more than 30 years after, the Rolling Stones has gone on a roller coaster of triumphs and quiet periods and in 2002, the band released a compilation album and embarked on a major tour. Not bad for some pretty old rockers. Mick Jagger in particular is constantly prominent, and the wonder of it is that he dresses pretty much the same way and still has that perpetual sneer the world has come to expect. The Rolling Stones are at it again, with the European Big Banger Tour of 2007 which began in June 05 at Werchter in Belgium. They had just finished a North American tour and Australasian tour in 2006. Rolling Stones concert tickets are still available for some tour dates, and may be purchased online, but some of them go for more than $2,000! Some tour dates still have special packages such as the July 22 Brno concert in Czechoslovakia and the August dates for Finland, Denmark and Sweden. You will have some luck for the last five dates in August in Ireland and Great Britain. The end of the tour is on August 26 in London, the fitting last stop for these British icons. For more information on Rolling Stones tickets, check out the many websites and choose the tour date you want. Hurry, though, they are running out as you speak. |
